Salim Basilio (he/him)

Biography

Pre-Legacy

Salim has grown up in the Arts Quarter, surrounded by poets, musicians and artists. He's determined to become a great writer… right after he's finished that book. Oh, and that video game he needs to beat. Come to think of it, he needs a nap too (via The Sims 4).

Young Adulthood

Salim joined the Basilio family in a flash marriage with Miguel (literally the day they met, when he showed up on Miguel's doorstep stating he's his secret admirer). Bringing all of his savings with him and singlehandedly saving Miguel from poverty, will their relationship prove itself to last? Or will Salim realize he's made a huge mistake settling down so quickly?

Adulthood

Salim's marriage, though romantically strained, proved to be great for his writing career. While Miguel starred in sitcoms and movies, Salim wrote the scripts (and some sci-fi novels on the side) helping boost each other forward in their work. Though he tried his best, his schedule proved to be too volatile for him to properly care for his now-preteen twin children, Etan and Elmira.

Old Age

Salim never could find the time he'd wished he had to do all the things he wanted to do. He could never write enough books, spend enough time with Miguel, or with Etan and Elmira. Nonetheless, time keeps on marching, and Salim turned to yoga and other wellness-adjacent hobbies to pass the time now that he was formally retired and out of the spotlight. With any luck, teaching his body and soul how to live in the moment will make him feel more content with the fact of his death.

Death

Salim Basilio passed away peacefully from complications related to his old age inside the Basilio family home. He is honored by his widow, Miguel Basilio, and his children, Etan and Elmira Basilio. Just before his death, Elmira had just moved in with her boyfriend, Doba Basilio (who brought his cat, Cosmo) as Elmira announced her pregnancy and upcoming wedding. Unfortunately, he didn't live to see either take place. He died proud of the people his children had become, and of the joy he helped bring back to Miguel. And, of course, of the hundreds of thousands of Simoleons he'd be leaving them all behind.
